Hitachi Energy India Q1 profit more than doubles to Rs 294 crore
Hitachi Energy India Limited reported a 123.5% year-on-year increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 294.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, as revenue from operations rose 68.6% to Rs 2,493.7 crore. Stronger execution and higher operating margins lifted operational EBITDA by 135% to Rs 399.9 crore.
Operational EBITDA margin improved to 16.0% from 11.5% in Q1 FY26, while profit before tax increased 120.2% year-on-year to Rs 389.5 crore.
Orders
Orders secured during the quarter, excluding the large high-voltage direct current (HVDC) project won in Q1 FY26, increased 26.1% year-on-year, with demand coming from industries, data centres and renewable energy projects.
Hitachi Energy secured its first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, a 165 MW/330 MWh installation at Hebbatam, Andhra Pradesh.
The company also won a 2 GW export order for wind power evacuation in Europe and an order for a 100 GW solar park in western India. The latter includes a Load Pooling Station and Main Pooling Station with 56 bays of 400 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and 12.8 km of 400 kV gas-insulated bus (GIB).
Data centre orders included more than 560 MVA of power transformers, 800 MVA of dry transformers and 230/33 kV GIS. One such project in Hyderabad involves 40×2500 KVA equipment for a leading Indian multinational conglomerate.
The company also secured an HVDC order for offshore grid connection systems in Europe.
Manufacturing
Hitachi Energy held the groundbreaking ceremony for a new large power transformer manufacturing facility at Karjan, Vadodara, on June 12, 2026. The company is investing Rs 2,000 crore in the facility, which is being developed as a fully digital smart manufacturing plant.
The factory is targeted for completion by December 2028 and is expected to significantly increase the company’s annual transformer manufacturing capacity.
India’s expanding power demand and energy transition are supporting the company’s growth outlook. Key demand drivers highlighted by Hitachi Energy include the country’s 500 GW renewable energy target for 2030, a Rs 7.9 lakh crore transmission investment roadmap, projected peak power demand of 495 GW by 2035 and data centre capacity expected to reach 5-8 GW by 2030.
