Havells India reported a revenue increase of 22.8% year-on-year in its cables business for Q2 FY25 (July to September). Revenue reached Rs 18.05 billion, up from Rs 14.70 billion in Q2 FY24.
Anil Rai Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of Havells India, highlighted the growth across categories, driven by improving consumer demand and the festive season. However, he noted that margins were impacted due to commodity price volatility. Gupta expressed optimism about future demand, citing new capacity additions in the cables segment.
Havells India is expanding its cable plant in Alwar, Rajasthan, with an investment of Rs 3.75 billion. The expansion aims to increase production capacity from 3.29 million km per year to 4.12 million km per year by March 2026.
In its investor presentation, Havells India mentioned that strong volume growth in the cables business was largely driven by wires, supported by spillover effects from Q1 FY25 due to de-stocking.
