The Haryana government has sanctioned infrastructure tenders worth Rs 40.16 billion, targeting significant upgrades to the state’s power distribution network and key urban development projects. The approvals are aimed at strengthening electricity infrastructure and reducing transmission losses across the region.

According to an official announcement, the approved works focus on the development of distribution infrastructure and the reduction of line losses. The plan includes the establishment of new 33 kV substations, as well as the expansion and reinforcement of existing substations operated by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN).

In a major technological upgrade for Gurugram, the state committee has also cleared the implementation of an integrated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, alongside a Distribution Management System (DMS) and an Outage Management System (OMS). These systems are expected to enhance grid monitoring, operational efficiency, and outage response in the city.

This development follows a recent milestone announced by Haryana’s Energy Minister Anil Vij, who inaugurated a major electricity distribution upgrade project in Ambala Cantonment. He stated that the initiative will significantly strengthen the city’s electricity network. The project is funded under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) with an estimated cost of Rs 3.8 billion.
