Hariom Pipe Industries Limited (HPIL) has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to develop 60 MW decentralised solar power projects under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0. The award was issued on March 4, 2025.
The project involves developing, designing, engineering, procuring, constructing, commissioning, and maintaining solar plants. HPIL will also set up the evacuation infrastructure to deliver power to MSEDCL under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program.
Under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the power will be supplied to MSEDCL at Rs 2.96 per kWh. An additional incentive of Rs 0.25 per kWh will be provided for the first three years if the project is commissioned on time. The central government will provide Rs 630 million in Central Finance Assistance (CFA) for the project.
The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and aligns with Maharashtra’s goal of ensuring stable daytime electricity for agricultural consumers. The state plans to solarize at least 30 percent of its agricultural feeders by installing 7,000 MW of solar capacity.
