Google has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) in Taiwan.
Under the terms of the agreement, Google will buy renewable energy from the Fengmiao I offshore wind project, which is set to become operational in 2027.
Located off the coast of Taiwan, the Fengmiao I offshore wind project is the first to achieve financial close from Taiwan’s Round 3.1 auction. Once operational, it will power Google’s data center, cloud region, and offices in Taiwan, providing reliable and sustainable energy to support the company’s growing presence in the region.
This PPA represents Google’s first offshore wind agreement in Asia Pacific, expanding its renewable energy portfolio in Taiwan. The project builds on Google’s existing renewable energy projects in the country, including solar and geothermal power, which are already helping meet the rising demand for energy.
