Noida is now home to India’s largest dedicated battery energy storage system (BESS) production plant, following the commissioning of GoodEnough Energy’s new 7 GWh capacity gigafactory.

The facility represents a capital investment of more than Rs 450 crore and is immediately operational. This initial capacity is part of a broader growth plan, with the company targeting an expansion to over 25 GWh of annual production within a three-year timeframe.

GoodEnough Energy, established in 2023 by founders Adit Agarwal, Akash Kaushik, and Gaurav Aggarwal, develops grid-scale storage solutions for domestic and international markets. It reports that its BESS units are already being deployed across India, with significant demand from major industrial and commercial sectors.

In a statement, the company linked the facility’s launch to national energy goals. It noted that with India targeting 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and having already achieved 254 GW from renewable sources, the stable integration of this power will require an estimated 230 GWh of energy storage. GoodEnough Energy described its Noida gigafactory as a critical step in addressing this infrastructure need.
