Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) has invited bids for multiple transmission infrastructure projects under the Gujarat Green Energy Corridor (GEC)-II scheme. These include a 765 kV double-circuit (D/C) transmission line and transformer procurement in two separate packages.
For the transmission line, GETCO has called for design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 765 kV D/C Som Pipaliya (Saurashtra)–Vataman line. The route length is 118.186 km, and the line will use Hexa ACSR Zebra Conductor (WZ-5). The project will be executed on a turnkey basis.
The estimated cost of the transmission line project is Rs 9,005.77 million. The deadline for bid submission is June 3, 2025. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months.
GETCO has been appointed as the implementing agency for the Intra State Transmission System in Gujarat, under the GEC-II scheme approved by the Union Government. The scheme aims to facilitate evacuation and intra-state absorption of renewable power, particularly from solar and wind sources. It is part of a broader push to strengthen both intra and inter-state transmission networks. The total cost of the GEC-II project in Gujarat is estimated at Rs 36.67 billion.
In a separate tender issued on May 12, 2025, GETCO invited bids in two packages for the purchase of power transformers and renovation and modernization (R&M) works.
Package I covers the procurement of 66 kV class power transformers, using both mineral oil and ester oil. The estimated cost is Rs 7,933.43 million. The last date for bid submission is June 6, 2025.
Package II includes the purchase of 220 kV and 132 kV class power transformers of various ratings. This package is estimated at Rs 7,483.6 million. The bid submission deadline is June 12, 2025.
