EuroWind and Wind Estate form JV for 186.3 MW wind parks in Denmark

Danish energy companies EuroWind Energy and Wind Estate have established a joint venture (JV) called K/S Blue Holding, combining their wind power assets to create a total capacity of 186.3 MW. The JV equally splits ownership between the two firms, with EuroWind contributing 28 turbines from Overgaard (96.9 MW) and 11 turbines from Norre Okse So (39.6 MW). Wind Estate adds 16 turbines at Overgaard with a capacity of 49.8 MW.

As part of the deal, Wind Estate will pay an undisclosed sum to EuroWind Energy, with the overall value of the partnership exceeding DKr 3 billion (€402.05 million). Overgaard, Denmark’s largest onshore wind park, has a total capacity of 146.7 MW, nearly double that of the second-largest Vindpark Thorup-Sletten. The collaboration is aimed at optimizing operations and developing the wind park further. Both companies see potential for expanded cooperation in Denmark and abroad.

Denmark is on track to have wind energy supply 60% of its power by 2030 and aims to achieve 100% renewable electricity generation by 2050.
