Elapath Energy and RenewableErgon to develop 150 MW solar project in Taiwan

Elapath Energy and RenewableErgon are set to develop a 150 MW solar project in Budai, Chiayi County, Taiwan, with an estimated investment of $250 million.

The project is slated to begin its first phase in December 2024, pending approval from Taiwan’s Energy Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and is expected to be completed by February 2025.

RenewableErgon, a blockchain-based platform, integrates smart contracts, dynamic electricity pricing, and investment opportunities in renewable projects. It has previously supported solar initiatives in Cambodia, Singapore, and Taiwan, allowing investors to purchase energy shares per kWh with a minimum investment of $5,000.

In April 2024, Taiwan’s renewable energy sector marked a major development as GreenRock Energy partnered with Solarvest to develop 1 GW of renewable projects across Taiwan and Malaysia, focusing on agrivoltaic and aquavoltaic projects in Taiwan with a 500 MW target capacity.
