DVC signs PPAs with GUVNL to supply 559 MW of power

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has entered into power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) to supply a total of 559 MW of electricity.Â
This includes 359 MW from the 800 MW Durgapur Thermal Power Expansion Project in West Bengal and 200 MW from the 2×800 MW Koderma Thermal Power Expansion Project in Jharkhand.
The Durgapur project, situated in Bardhaman district, is an expansion of the retired Durgapur Steel Thermal Power Project.Â
The Koderma project, located in the Koderma district, involves adding Units III and IV to the existing 1,000 MW plant, which includes earlier units commissioned in 2011 and 2013.
