Multiple consultancy contracts and L1 positions have been awarded across pumped storage and hydroelectric projects in India.

Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Private Limited has secured a contract worth Rs 79.66 million. The firm will prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for the 1,000 MW Humbarli Birmani Pumped Storage Project. THDC India Limited had invited bids in April 2025. The project is located in Satara and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra and the work is expected to be completed in one year.

EQMS Global Private Limited has bagged a Rs 1.8 million contract for consultancy services related to environmental clearance (EC) for the 930 MW Kirthai Stage-II Hydro Electric Project. The firm will carry out EIA/EMP studies. Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (CVPP) had invited bids in March 2025. The 12-month consultancy work supports a project led by Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDC) on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district.

For the 640 MW Rihand-Obra Pumped Storage Project, DMR Hydroengineering and Infrastructures Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) with a quote of Rs 79.2 million. The bid covers the preparation of a pre-feasibility report (PFR) and a bankable DPR. THDC India Limited invited bids in January 2025. The project involves water recycling between Rihand and Obra reservoirs in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district. Aquagreen Engineering Management Private Limited (AEMPL) and WAPCOS Limited are L2 and L3 bidders, quoting Rs 119.89 million and Rs 124.5 million respectively. Work is to be completed in 18 months.

In Chhattisgarh, Arihant Drillings Private Limited has emerged as L1 for geotechnical investigation (core drilling) works at the 1,400 MW Dangari Pumped Storage Project. The company quoted Rs 18.28 million. WAPCOS Limited had invited bids in October 2024. M/s G. Soil and Rock Probe Engineers placed the second lowest bid at Rs 26.62 million. The project is planned by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL) in Jashpur district, at a total cost of Rs 51.1 billion. The drilling work is to be completed in six months.

WAPCOS Limited has also emerged as L1 for DPR preparation for the 800 MW Wah Umiam Hydro Electric Project Stage III in Meghalaya. The company quoted Rs 65.65 million. NEEPCO had invited bids in September 2024. AEMPL and Aarvee Associates followed with L2 and L3 bids at Rs 66.58 million and Rs 77.16 million, respectively. The DPR work is expected to finish in 18 months.
