The Ministry of Coal has allocated its 200th coal mine, marking a major milestone in India’s ongoing coal sector reforms. The Marwatola–II coal block has been awarded to Singhal Business Private Limited.

The Nominated Authority stressed the Ministry’s focus on making investment easier, cutting down red tape, and speeding up the operationalisation of coal blocks.

In recent years, the Ministry has rolled out key reforms. These include commercial coal mining, a single-window clearance system, and digital monitoring tools. These steps have opened the sector to private players and created a more accountable regulatory environment.
