CIL signs MoU with AM Green to develop 4,500 MW hybrid power projects

Coal India Limited (CIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AM Green Ammonia (India) Private Limited to set up 4,500 MW of wind-solar hybrid power capacity in India. The agreement was signed on May 7, 2025.
AM Green Ammonia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AM Green Energy Private Limited. Under the partnership, CIL will develop approximately 2,500 MW to 3,000 MW of solar and 1,500 MW to 2,000 MW of wind projects.
The total estimated investment for the projects is Rs 250 billion. The solar capacity is planned in states like Rajasthan and Gujarat. Wind capacity will likely be developed in the southern states.
This collaboration marks a major step for CIL in expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
