CESL issues tender for EV charging stations in Faridabad, Haryana
Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) has launched a tender to establish and maintain EV charging stations at seven locations within the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad, Haryana. Bids are due by October 30, 2024, with an opening on the same day. The tender requires a Rs 15,000 document fee and an earnest money deposit of Rs 212,000.
The project is expected to complete within four months of award issuance or no-objection certification. Successful bidders will implement and manage EV charging or battery swapping stations under a build, own, operate, and maintain (BOOM) model. Each bidder will receive at least three stations, equipped with DC fast chargers of at least 50 kW. CESL mandates power level adherence, with 1/3 of stations at levels 1 or 2 and the remaining 2/3 at higher power levels or designated for battery swapping. The minimum bid reserve price is set at Rs 1.2/kWh.
Bidders must demonstrate prior experience in EV charging or battery swapping over the last seven years and have an annual turnover of Rs 4.2 million. Revenue-sharing with CESL will be based on an agreed bid parameter.
This initiative aligns with CESL’s ongoing projects under the Pradhan Mantri e-bus Sewa Initiative. In November 2023, CESL issued an RfP to appoint operators for 3,600 electric buses, focusing on establishing electric and civil infrastructure under a gross cost contract model.
