CERC to hold public hearing on draft power market amendment and VPPA guidelines

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) will hold a public hearing on 18 August 2025 to discuss the Draft Power Market (First Amendment) Regulations, 2025, and the Draft Guidelines for Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPA).
According to the public notice issued on 6 August 2025, the hearing will be conducted online. The session on the draft amendment to the Power Market Regulations will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the VPPA guidelines discussion at noon.
The hearing is open to representatives from central and state governments, load despatch centres, utilities, transmission and trading licensees, power exchanges, financial institutions, consultancy firms, industry experts, and other stakeholders. Interested participants must register through the SAUDAMINI Portal and submit confirmation by 14 August 2025. Those intending to make presentations should send them in advance to the specified CERC email addresses.
