Cadeler has signed firm contracts for transporting and installing 64 offshore wind turbines, each with a capacity of 15 MW, along with their foundations for the East Anglia 2 (EA2) wind farm, a 960 MW project in the UK.
The contract value for Cadeler ranges between €360 million ($387 million) and €382 million. ScottishPower Renewables is developing the EA2 project off the coast of East Anglia, with offshore operations slated for 2027.
Cadeler will deploy its new A-class vessels and an O-class vessel from its existing fleet to execute the project. This collaboration follows the UK government’s recent auction results in September 2024, highlighting support for large-scale offshore wind projects like the £4 billion EA2 initiative.
The EA2 project in the southern North Sea will enhance the UK’s renewable energy capacity, delivering power to approximately one million homes.
This partnership builds upon a reservation agreement Cadeler announced in May 2024, solidifying its role as a key player in offshore wind energy development.
