The Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) has allocated a 2,000 MW (2,600 MWp) solar power project to Bondada Engineering Limited. The project was awarded on May 22, 2025, and will be developed over the next 24 months at an estimated cost of Rs 90 billion.
The rollout of the project will be phased. A 250 MW capacity will be commissioned by FY 2026, 750 MW by FY 2027, and the remaining 1,000 MW by FY 2028. The project will be executed by Bondada Renewable Energy Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bondada Engineering.
The solar projects will be set up under the “Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy-2024.” They will span villages in Roddam and Kotacheruvu mandals of Sri Sathya Sai district and in Gooty, Peddavadugur, Vidapanakallu, Peddapappur, and Narpala mandals of Ananthapuramu district.
GoAP will lease the required land for up to 30 years at Rs 31,000 per acre annually, with a 5 percent increase every two years. The state will also provide infrastructure support for power evacuation via Andhra Pradesh Transmission Company Limited’s (APTRANSCO) central transmission utility (CTU) substation. The project is expected to receive additional grants from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
On the same day, the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) of Andhra Pradesh approved investment proposals worth Rs 68.61 billion for developing 490 MW of renewable energy capacity.
Deshraj Solar Energy Private Limited will invest Rs 29.2 billion to set up a 230 MW wind project across the Ananthapuramu and Sri Sathya Sai districts. Amplus Energy Solutions Private Limited will invest Rs 39.41 billion in a 260 MW wind-solar hybrid project in the Kadapa district.
