Aroma Solar Energy, the renewable energy arm of Aroma Agrotech Private Limited, has commenced production at its solar module manufacturing facility in Karnal, Haryana, with an installed capacity of 1.2 GW. The plant is described as North India’s first fully automated, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) module facility.

The Karnal facility produces solar modules in the 620 W to 635 W range, with a stated efficiency of 23.51%. The manufacturing process integrates robotic automation and AI-based monitoring across key stages, including cell placement and lamination, aimed at maintaining consistent output and reducing defect rates over time.

Mayank Garg, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aroma Solar, said the company is focusing on precision-led manufacturing supported by advanced machinery and AI-driven quality control systems. He added that the modules are designed for utility-scale applications where reliability and bankability are key considerations.

The company plans to expand into solar cell and wafer manufacturing as part of its strategy to strengthen supply chain integration and reduce reliance on imports.
