Officials from ANDRITZ and Tata Power holding signed documents at the contract signing for the 1,000 MW Bhivpuri pumped storage project in Maharashtra

ANDRITZ has secured a contract from Tata Power to supply generating units for the 1,000 MW Bhivpuri pumped storage project (PSP) in Maharashtra. The order, valued in the low three-digit million euro range, will be booked in ANDRITZ’s first quarter 2026 order intake.

Under the contract, ANDRITZ will design, manufacture, install, test, and commission three reversible pump turbines along with motor-generators and associated electromechanical equipment. The company will utilise its manufacturing facilities in India, supported by its global engineering network.

Bhivpuri marks the first pumped storage collaboration between ANDRITZ and Tata Power. The project forms part of Tata Power’s strategy to expand storage capacity to support its renewable energy portfolio.

For ANDRITZ, the order adds to its ongoing work in India, where it is currently engaged in seven PSPs with a combined capacity exceeding 11 GW.

Ravindra G, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ANDRITZ Hydropower India, said the project supports the development of power systems capable of integrating higher shares of renewable energy while ensuring reliable supply.
