Advait Energy and H.G. Infra Engineering have signed battery energy storage purchase agreements with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). The agreements cover standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) backed by viability gap funding from the central government.
These deals are part of GUVNL’s Phase IV tender, which targets 500 MW/1,000 MWh of BESS capacity. The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission recently approved tariffs for the projects.
Advait Energy will set up a 50 MW/100 MWh facility at the 220 kV Radhanpur substation. This project is expected to generate revenue of around Rs 1.6 billion.
Both projects fall under the Ministry of Power’s state component scheme. They support Gujarat’s energy storage obligation, which mandates 4 per cent storage by 2029–30.
