Adani Power Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) to supply power from a proposed 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal project in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh.
The company disclosed the development to stock exchanges on August 29, 2025, under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The project will be developed on a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model. Coal supply will be arranged through a linkage allocated by the Government of India under the SHAKTI policy. The execution timeline is 54 months from the appointed date.
According to Adani Power, the project will require an investment of about Rs 10,500 crore. The company emerged as one of the lowest bidders in the competitive process, quoting a tariff of Rs 5.838 per kilowatt-hour. Once commissioned, the plant will supply electricity to the state distribution company under a long-term arrangement.
The project is expected to create 6,000 to 7,000 jobs during the construction phase and around 1,000 jobs once operations begin. The company also plans to sign a Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with the state distribution utility in due course.
This order is the fourth major award received by Adani Power in the past year. In September 2024, the company, along with Adani Green Energy, received a letter of intent for 6,600 MW of supply to Maharashtra. In May 2025, it secured an LoA from Uttar Pradesh for 1,600 MW, and in August 2025, it won an LoA from Bihar for 2,400 MW.
Adani Power currently operates 18,110 MW of thermal power capacity across multiple states, along with a 40 MW solar plant in Gujarat.
