Adani Power signs PSA with MSEDCL for 1,600 MW supply
Adani Power Limited has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the long-term supply of 1,600 MW of electricity.
The power will be supplied from a proposed 2×800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant to be developed by the company on a Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) basis.
The development follows Adani Power’s earlier disclosure dated March 15, 2026, when it informed stock exchanges that it had received a Letter of Award (LoA) from MSEDCL for the supply of 1,600 MW of thermal power.
The award was made through a competitive bidding process, in which Adani Power emerged as the lowest bidder with a discovered tariff of Rs 5.30 per kWh. Under the terms of the agreement, power supply is scheduled to commence from FY2030-31 and will continue for a period of 25 years.
The procurement forms part of MSEDCL’s efforts to secure long-term power supplies to meet the state’s future electricity demand.
The proposed generating station will comprise two ultra-supercritical units of 800 MW each. The project will be developed under the DBFOO model, under which Adani Power will be responsible for the design, construction, financing, ownership and operation of the plant.
Coal linkage for the project has been allocated under the Scheme for Harnessing and Allocating Koyala Transparently in India (SHAKTI) policy of the Government of India, providing fuel security for the planned capacity.
The PSA formalises the arrangement between Adani Power and MSEDCL following the issuance of the LoA earlier this year and establishes the framework for long-term power procurement from the upcoming plant.
