Adani Saur Urja (KA) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited, has submitted a bid to develop an Off-River Closed Loop Pumped Storage Project (PSP) at a self-identified site in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited (TNGECL) invited proposals for such projects in January 2025.
The bid falls under the Project Proponent Mode. Developers are required to choose a site not located on a river and not owned by the state, its agencies, PSUs, or entities with state financial stakes. Developers must bear full responsibility for site identification, investment, and risk, along with securing all required central and state statutory clearances. TNGECL will support clearance processes on a best-effort basis but holds no liability.
The project is to be developed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Maintain (BOOM) basis, with a concession period of 40 years, extendable by 10 years. Developers must also secure and fund connectivity to the State Transmission Utility (STU) or Central Transmission Utility (CTU) network as applicable.
