Adani Energy places Rs 135 bn conductor order with Diamond Power

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL) has received a letter of intent from Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) for the supply of 24,080 kilometres of aluminium alloy-59 high-performance conductors. The order is valued at Rs 134.91 billion.
The conductors will be used in major transmission projects, including Jamnagar, Khavda-IV D, Navinal-II, and Mahan-II. The supply will be executed on a kilometre-rate basis with photovoltaic-based pricing and is scheduled for completion by June 2028.
DPIL is the country’s largest single-site manufacturer of power cables and conductors. The company operates two manufacturing units in Gujarat with a combined capacity of 250,000 tonnes per year and is building a third facility with an additional 100,000-tonne annual capacity, expected by September 2025.
Last month, DPIL entered into a strategic partnership with US-based TS Conductor. Under the agreement, DPIL will handle stranding, marketing, and technology services for TS Conductor’s high-efficiency products in India. These include carbon-fiber core conductors with enhanced strength and conductivity.
