Adani Energy adds 2,000 ckm to transmission portfolio

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has added over 2,000 circuit kilometers (ckm) to its under-construction power transmission portfolio with three new project wins in Q2 FY25. These projects, totalling 2,059 ckm of transmission lines and 13,500 MVA of substation capacity, bring AESL’s total under-construction portfolio to 5,155 ckm of lines and 35,071 MVA.

All three projects are part of interstate transmission system (ISTS) schemes awarded under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route, with a combined investment of approximately Rs 1,030 billion. The projects are housed under Khavda IV A Power Transmission Ltd, Navinal Transmission Ltd, and Jamnagar Transmission Ltd.

As of September 30, 2024, AESL’s total transmission portfolio, including operational and under-construction projects, increased by 17% to 23,269 ckm, while its substation capacity grew by 33% to 70,686 MVA.

Smart metering and power distribution: AESL’s smart metering portfolio reached 22.8 million meters with an investment of Rs 272 billion. In its power distribution business in Mumbai, Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd (AEML) reduced distribution losses to 4.85% in Q2 FY25, while electricity sales rose by 7% to 2,609 million units (MU). In Mundra Special Economic Zone, electricity sales grew to 234 MU in Q2 FY25, driven by industrial demand.
