Gujarat leads India in wind power generation: Minister

Gujarat ranks first in India for wind power generation, producing 12,132 MW, according to state climate change minister Mulu Bera. As of July 31, the state has installed wind power projects with a total capacity of 47,075 MW, contributing 25.8% of India’s total wind energy production.

The Gujarat government has set a target to generate 100 GW of power from conventional and renewable sources and is implementing various initiatives to achieve this goal. In recognition of its efforts, organizations like the Association of Renewable Energy Agencies of States (AREAS), National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE), and the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy have awarded Gujarat four honours in the past three years for its wind energy advancements.
