Oriana Power secures Rs 94.51 crore Bihar solar EPC order
Oriana Power Limited has received and accepted a Letter of Award (LOA) from Bellwether Energy Pvt. Ltd. and its group entities for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for ground-mounted solar projects with a total contracted capacity of 25.138 MW / 31.423 MWp in Bihar. The aggregate order value is approximately Rs 94.51 crore, inclusive of GST.
The projects will be developed across eight locations in Bihar: Barhat, MangoBandar, Shankarpur, Murliganj, Goradh, Dhuraiya, Jagdishpur, and Manikpur. Oriana Power is required to complete the projects within six months from the date of the LOA.
The order has been awarded by a domestic entity. Oriana Power has confirmed that there is no interest of any promoter, promoter group, or group company in the awarding entity and that the transaction does not constitute a related-party transaction.
Recent order
The Bihar award follows another EPC contract secured by Oriana Power from a leading cement industry player for 50 MW of solar capacity in Rajasthan. The contract is valued at Rs 214.80 crore, including GST.
Together, the two orders cover solar projects across Bihar and Rajasthan and extend the company’s EPC activity across different customer segments. The Rajasthan project is linked to demand from the cement industry, while the Bihar projects involve ground-mounted solar installations across eight separate locations.
Growth plans
The latest orders come as Oriana Power works towards its stated 2030 targets of adding 6 GWp of solar EPC capacity, 2.4 GWp of solar independent power producer (IPP) capacity, and 20 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity.
The multi-location Bihar portfolio will require execution across distributed project sites, while the Rajasthan contract adds to the company’s work for industrial consumers. Both orders are domestic in nature and are expected to be executed within the current financial year, providing near-term revenue visibility.
The company’s order pipeline reflects continued investment in solar infrastructure across the open-access market and renewable capacity expansion programmes in different states. The projects also indicate demand from both renewable energy developers and industrial consumers for utility-scale and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar capacity.
