SVOLT secures over 700 MWh energy storage project from Adani Green
SVOLT Energy Technology has secured an energy storage project of more than 700 MWh from Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) in India, covering a demonstration station in Mumbai and a large-scale storage system at the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat.
The project will use SVOLT’s self-developed 350Ah second-generation battery cells and a dual-layer liquid cooling system. According to SVOLT, the storage configuration has been customised for high-temperature and high-humidity conditions in South Asia, as well as grid instability.

SVOLT said its dual-layer liquid cooling system improves heat dissipation efficiency by 40%. The company also claims the battery system can achieve more than 10,000 cycles, corresponding to a lifespan of 20 years, while increasing energy throughput over the full lifecycle by 10%.
The solution has received certification from DNV and, according to SVOLT, complies with Indian grid standards.
The project comprises two components: a demonstration energy storage station in Mumbai and a larger system at the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. SVOLT did not disclose the individual capacities of the two installations, the project value or the commissioning schedule.
The order expands SVOLT’s energy storage presence in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.Â
