NLC India Renewables gets GUVNL LoI for 900 MW solar project
NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for development of a 900 MW solar power project in Gujarat.
The project was awarded through a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, with the electricity generated from the 900 MW capacity to be procured by GUVNL.
Renewable expansion
NLC India aims to add around 2 GW of renewable capacity by the end of the current financial year, towards targets of 8 GW by 2028 and 10 GW by 2030. Around 3 GW of projects are under active development, supported by joint ventures in Rajasthan, Assam, Maharashtra and Odisha, as well as a planned 2 GW partnership with PTC India Limited. Key projects include 600 MW in Gujarat, 1,000 MW in Assam and the 810 MW Pugal project. NIRL’s proposed Initial Public Offering (IPO) is currently targeted for September 2026.
