Premier Energies inaugurates 5.6 GW solar module plant in Telangana
Premier Energies Limited has inaugurated a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Rangareddy, Telangana. The company also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a 6 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility and an 18,000 metric tonnes per annum aluminium frames plant at the same campus.
The inauguration was presided over by Shri A. Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, in the presence of Shri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, and Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for IT, Electronics and Communications, Industries and Commerce, and Legislative Affairs.
Manufacturing expansion
The Seetharampur campus spans 75 acres and is the latest addition to Premier Energies’ manufacturing network. With the commissioning of the new facility, the company’s total solar module manufacturing capacity has increased to 11.1 GW, supporting supplies to both domestic and international markets.
The facility is equipped with G12R TOPCon module manufacturing lines and includes what the company said is India’s first Zero Bus Bar manufacturing unit. It also features automated guided vehicle (AGV)-enabled material movement and artificial intelligence (AI)-based quality inspection systems. According to the company, the automated production lines can manufacture one solar module every four seconds.
Alongside the module manufacturing facility, Premier Energies has commenced development of a 6 GWh BESS manufacturing facility and an aluminium frames plant with a production capacity of 18,000 metric tonnes per annum.
The company said these facilities are intended to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities across the clean energy value chain and support domestic supply chains.
Premier Energies said the Seetharampur manufacturing campus is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs once fully operational. The company added that the facility has been designed with sustainability measures integrated into its operations.
