Trom Industries secures 42 MW rooftop solar orders from SBPDCL
Trom Industries Limited has received three purchase orders from South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) for the development of 42 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects under the PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG-MBY).
The projects will be implemented across the Aurangabad, Biharsharif and Bhagalpur circles of SBPDCL and will cover a total of 38,561 consumer installations.
Project allocation
Under the orders, Trom Industries will develop 10 MW of rooftop solar capacity in the Aurangabad circle across 9,936 consumer installations, each with a capacity of 1.1 KW.
In the Biharsharif circle, the company will install 17 MW of rooftop solar capacity covering 15,335 consumer installations of 1.1 KW each.
The Bhagalpur circle project involves the installation of 15 MW of rooftop solar capacity across 13,290 consumer installations, also with a capacity of 1.1 KW per installation.
Overall, the three projects will add 42 MW of rooftop solar capacity through 38,561 consumer connections.
Implementation model
The projects will be executed under the CAPEX plus Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) Mode Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model of the PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana.
The scheme is aimed at accelerating rooftop solar adoption across residential consumers through utility-led implementation models.
According to the purchase orders, supply and installation activities are required to be completed within nine months from the date of signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Order details
The company stated that the contracts have been awarded by a domestic entity. It also confirmed that neither its promoter, promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.
The company further clarified that the orders do not constitute related party transactions.
