NTPC commissions additional 50 MW solar capacity in Rajasthan
NTPC Limited has declared commercial operation of an additional 50 MW solar capacity under a larger 300 MW solar component of a 200 MW Round-The-Clock (RTC) renewable energy project in Rajasthan.
The capacity is owned by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, which is a joint venture of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). The 50 MW capacity became commercially operational from 00:00 hrs on June 14, 2026.
With this declaration, cumulative commissioned solar capacity under the project has reached 250 MW.
Capacity position
Following the latest commissioning, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group has increased to 90,857 MW, while its commercial capacity now stands at 88,977 MW.
Separately, the NGEL Group’s total commercial capacity has risen to 10,621.40 MW, while installed capacity has reached 10,671.40 MW.
Earlier this month, NTPC declared the commercial operation of the second part capacity of 34.4 MW from its 176 MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) project at Ramagundam, Telangana.
