BHEL signs deal to supply gas turbine generators for Dangote’s Nigeria refinery
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed a contract agreement with Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise for the design, manufacturing, supply, and supervision of erection and commissioning of eight gas turbine generator packages in Nigeria.
The order, valued between Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore, will support a petroleum refinery and polypropylene plant located in the Dangote Industries Free Zone, Nigeria. The scope of work excludes civil works and includes delivery up to Mumbai Port along with performance guarantee tests.
The agreement was signed on June 2, 2026. The project is scheduled for completion within 26 months from the start date or effective date of the contract.
BHEL reported higher earnings for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2026. For Q4 FY26, standalone net profit rose to Rs 1,282.68 crore from Rs 504.05 crore in the corresponding period last year. Total income increased to Rs 12,562.49 crore from Rs 9,152.16 crore. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased to Rs 1,754 crore from Rs 832 crore. EBITDA margin expanded to 14.2% from 9.2%.
