Pace Digitek signs PPA for 250 MW solar-BESS project
Pace Digitek Limited has announced the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA) between TRANSGREENX, the asset-holding arm of the Pace Group, and Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) for a 250 MW solar project integrated with a 250 MW/1,100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Pavagada Solar Park in Karnataka.
The project involves development of a 250 MWAC solar photovoltaic power plant along with a 250 MW/1,100 MWh BESS. The total estimated project cost, including Goods and Services Tax, is around Rs 1,775 crore.
Project timeline
Earlier, on February 10, 2026, Pace Digitek had announced that it had received an award from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) for development of the integrated solar and battery storage project at Pavagada Solar Park.
The signing of the PPA with BESCOM marks the next stage in project implementation.
Storage integration
The project is located at Pavagada Solar Park in Tumakuru district, Karnataka, one of the country’s largest solar parks.
The addition of a 1,100 MWh BESS is intended to support power supply beyond solar generation hours and improve grid stability and peak demand management.
Large-scale integration of battery storage with renewable energy projects is gaining traction as states increase renewable energy capacity while addressing intermittency challenges associated with solar power generation.
