UP allots land for Rs 5,000 crore solar manufacturing projects in YEIDA
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has handed over allotment letters to two companies for solar photovoltaic (PV) cell and module manufacturing projects in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, involving a combined investment of nearly Rs 5,000 crore.
CESC Green Power Ltd, part of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, will establish a 3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility on 100 acres with an investment of Rs 3,805 crore.
Integrated Batteries India will set up a 4 GW solar PV cell manufacturing unit on 25 acres, with a proposed investment of Rs 1,146 crore.
According to the state government, the projects are expected to generate employment opportunities for around 12,000 people across sectors, with the solar manufacturing facilities contributing a substantial share of the jobs.
The government stated that the new investments would strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s position as an emerging manufacturing hub for green energy equipment.
The allotments formed part of a wider allocation of industrial projects worth more than Rs 5,000 crore spanning sectors including solar energy, information technology, electronics, and railways.
