Suzlon secures 195 MW repeat order from Sunsure Energy
Suzlon Energy Limited has secured a repeat order of 195 MW from Sunsure Energy, taking total sales of its 3 MW platform to nearly 9 GW. The project will be developed in the Bijapur district of Karnataka and will further expand the partnership between the two companies to nearly 300 MW across Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The order includes the supply and installation of 65 units of Suzlon’s S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3.0 MW. Suzlon will also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services after commissioning of the project.
Following this order, Suzlon’s orderbook in Karnataka has crossed 2 GW, making the state one of its largest markets alongside Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. The company said its installed base in Karnataka currently stands at 1,500 MW, accounting for 24% of its installed capacity in South India.
Suzlon stated that its S144 platform has secured more than 2.4 GW of orders in fiscal year (FY) 2026. The company attributed the growth to sustained demand from the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment, particularly for round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy solutions.
Girish Tanti, Executive Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, said the 3 MW platform is supporting India’s energy security goals and added that Karnataka has emerged as the company’s largest market by orderbook. He said demand from the C&I segment for RTC solutions has been a key growth driver.
Shashank Sharma, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sunsur Energy, said next-generation clean energy infrastructure should be capable of supplying power for emerging requirements such as artificial intelligence (AI), data centres, electric mobility, and deep electrification. He added that Suzlon’s project execution capabilities and lifecycle O&M expertise supported the continued partnership.
Ajay Kapur, CEO of Suzlon Group, said the nearly 300 MW cumulative partnership with Sunsur Energy reflects continued focus on quality, execution, and lifecycle support. He added that the repeat order indicates confidence in Suzlon’s capabilities.
