Alfa Transformers secures Rs 8.15 crore TPWODL contract
Alfa Transformers Limited has secured a rate contract worth Rs 8.15 crore from TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, for the supply of distribution transformers of multiple capacities.
According to the company’s regulatory filing, the contract was awarded on May 8, 2026, and will remain valid until May 5, 2028. The scope includes the manufacture and supply of distribution transformers rated at 63 KVA, 100 KVA, 250 KVA, 500 KVA and 1000 KVA.
The company stated that contract prices are exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and will remain variable in line with the Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) price variation formula.
Under the contract terms, Alfa Transformers is required to furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee equivalent to 5% of the contract value. The supplied transformers will carry a guarantee period of 66 months from the date of the final supply.
The contract also specifies a delivery timeline of 120 days along with an additional 15 days for drawing approval from the date of each release order.
Alfa Transformers clarified that the order is domestic in nature and that none of its promoters or group entities have any interest in TPWODL. The company further stated that the transaction does not qualify as a related party transaction.
Earlier this month, Alfa Transformers had also secured a separate contract worth Rs 3.79 crore from TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), another joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha. That contract, awarded on April 28, 2026, involves the supply of distribution transformers ranging from 63 KVA to 1 MVA, including both 11/4 KV and 33/4 KV units. Â
