Zodiac Energy wins 6 MWp solar plus BESS order in Zambia

Zodiac Energy Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from an international entity to execute a turnkey solar project in Lusaka, Zambia. The project includes a 6 MWp DC / 5 MW AC ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) plant and a 1 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).

The contract is valued at USD 3,288,000, equivalent to about Rs 30.85 crore based on prevailing exchange rates. It will be executed on a Delivery at Place (DAP) basis, covering end-to-end logistics such as packing, forwarding, dispatch, transportation, and transit insurance up to the project site.

The scope includes design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the plant. The project is expected to be completed within around nine months, subject to final LOI terms. The company stated that the name of the awarding entity has not been disclosed due to confidentiality obligations.

The order expands Zodiac Energy’s presence in the African renewable energy market and is expected to contribute to revenue during the execution period.

Zodiac Energy was incorporated in 1992 as Zodiac Genset Private Limited and was later renamed Zodiac Energy Private Limited in 2007. It became a public limited company in 2017. The company operates across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M) services for power projects.
