The bid process coordinator, REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), issued the LoI for the scheme titled “Establishing 400 kV substation at Hampapura along with associated transmission lines (Mandya District).” The project will be implemented through a special purpose vehicle (SPV), Hampapura Power Transmission Ltd, which is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of RECPDCL and will be transferred to Resonia Ltd.

Resonia Ltd emerged as the L1 bidder among five participants. Other technically qualified bidders included Adani Energy Solutions Limited, Dilip Buildcon Limited, KCC Buildcon Private Limited, and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. Ramalingam Construction Company Private Limited was declared non-responsive for not submitting additional information sought by RECPDCL.

This award marks Resonia’s entry into the intrastate transmission segment. Prashant Sinha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Resonia, stated that the project strengthens Karnataka’s transmission network and supports growing renewable energy integration. He added that expanding transmission capacity is necessary to maintain grid stability and enable efficient evacuation of clean energy in line with long-term power sector objectives.
