Premier Energies Limited has commissioned a 5.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur, Telangana. With this, its total solar module capacity has increased to 11.1 GW. Trial production at the new facility has commenced.
The plant is spread across 75 acres and is expected to create around 2,000 jobs. The facility produces G12R Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) modules using Zero Busbar (0BB) architecture. The company said this design improves energy yield, reduces optical losses, and enhances module durability.
It is described as one of India’s most automated solar module manufacturing lines. The plant can produce four G12R TOPCon modules every 16 seconds. It also uses artificial intelligence (AI)-based fault detection to identify and correct defects during production.
Expansion strategy and integration plans
Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director, said the plant marks a step toward building a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem from ingots to modules.
Sudhir Reddy, Chief Strategy Officer, said the facility supports the company’s strategy to scale integrated manufacturing and strengthen supply chain resilience.
Premier Energies is executing a Rs 12,500 crore capital expenditure programme over three years. This includes capacity expansion, backward integration into ingots and wafers, and diversification into inverters, transformers, and battery systems.
