Power Mech Projects Limited (Power Mech) has secured an operations and maintenance contract valued at Rs 709.56 crore from Adani Infrastructure Management Services Limited (AIMSL) for the 5×660 MW thermal power plant at Tiroda in Maharashtra. The contract period runs for five years, from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031.

The agreement covers key performance indicator (KPI)-based operations and maintenance (O&M) services for all five units of the Tiroda power plant. The facility has a total installed capacity of 3,300 MW.

The scope also includes overhauling activities across the entire plant. Under the KPI-based framework, Power Mech’s performance will be assessed against defined operational benchmarks tied to plant performance.

A KPI-based structure links service delivery to measurable outcomes such as plant availability, heat rate, and auxiliary power consumption. In such contracts, payments and performance assessments are aligned with operational metrics rather than a fixed-fee arrangement. This approach is increasingly used in large thermal O&M contracts where plant owners closely track operational efficiency and reliability.

Recent orders from Adani group entities

The latest contract expands Power Mech’s presence within the Adani power generation portfolio. Last month, Power Mech received contracts exceeding Rs 1,000 crore from two subsidiaries of Adani Power. These orders relate to erection, testing, and commissioning work for ultra-supercritical thermal power projects located in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
