Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has concluded the reverse auction for its 1,200 MW Interstate Transmission System connected wind power tender, Tranche XIX, with tariffs discovered in a narrow and competitive range of Rs 3.67 to Rs 3.69 per kWh.
The auction followed a tender that was initially issued for 600 MW and later expanded. The lowest tariff of Rs 3.67 per kWh was quoted by KP Energy Limited, which secured an allocation of 100 MW.
Several developers won capacity at Rs 3.68 per kWh. Ganeko Three Energy was allocated 180 MW, Waaree Renewable Energy secured 300 MW, and Opera Energy won 50 MW. At a tariff of Rs 3.69 per kWh, Purvah Green Power was awarded 250 MW, while Vena Energy Aura secured 124 MW. Refex Holding Private Limited received the remaining capacity within the permissible tariff band through the bucket filling mechanism.
Bids quoting tariffs of Rs 3.70 per kWh or higher were not considered for allocation. These included offers from Torrent Green Energy and Jindal India Power.
Under the revised tender conditions, the maximum allocation per bidder was capped at 600 MW and the greenshoe option was removed. The bidding process was conducted through e bidding followed by an e reverse auction. Successful bidders are expected to develop the projects and enter into 25 year power purchase agreements with SECI, adding to India’s interstate wind power capacity.
