IOC plans Rs 1 lakh crore investment for 18 GW green energy by 2030

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. plans to invest around Rs 1 lakh crore to build an 18 GW green energy portfolio by 2030. The company aims to acquire up to 12 GW of renewable capacity and develop another 6 GW organically through its green energy arm, Terra Clean Ltd. The total equity requirement for the 18 GW plan is estimated at up to Rs 30,000 crore, which IOC said can be met within existing capital expenditure plans. Terra Clean has board approval for 4 GW, while another 2 GW is being developed through Indian Oil NTPC Green Energy Ltd. for captive use.

NTPC to become sole promoter of PTC India

PTC India Limited has taken note of a Ministry of Power directive under which NTPC Limited will become the company’s sole promoter. Power Finance Corporation, Power Grid Corporation of India, and NHPC Limited will withdraw their nominee directors and relinquish promoter rights. The directive also splits the combined Chairman and Managing Director role into a Non-Executive Chairman and an Executive Managing Director. Amendments to PTC India’s Articles of Association are required to implement the changes, after which the exiting entities will seek reclassification as non-promoters.

JSW Energy posts rise in volumes and earnings in Q3 FY26

JSW Energy Limited reported a 65% year-on-year rise in power sale volumes and a 98% increase in EBITDA for the quarter ended December 31, 2025. Profit After Tax rose 150% year on year to Rs 420 crore, supported by capacity additions and recent acquisitions. Total installed capacity increased 64% to 13,336 MW, while power sales rose to 11.1 Billion Units. For the nine-month period, consolidated EBITDA increased 83% to Rs 8,439 crore.

Juniper Green commissions 100 MWh merchant BESS in Rajasthan

Juniper Green Energy Limited has commissioned a 100 MWh merchant Battery Energy Storage System project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project, developed through Juniper Green Cosmic Private Limited, has received commercial operation approval from the Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre. It is designed to earn revenues through price arbitrage, grid balancing, and ancillary services markets. The full 100 MWh capacity follows partial commissioning of 60 MWh in December 2025.

Adani Power allots Rs 7,500 crore NCDs under approved fundraising plan

Adani Power Limited has allotted secured, listed non-convertible debentures worth Rs 7,500 crore through a private placement. The issuance includes four series with tenors ranging from two to five years and coupons between 8.00% and 8.40%. The debentures are rated AA with a stable outlook by CRISIL Ratings Limited and India Ratings and Research Private Limited. The instruments are secured against company assets and will be listed on BSE Limited.

TPREL commissions 10 GW of EPC projects, reports record FY26 additions

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited has commissioned a cumulative 10 GW of engineering, procurement, and construction projects. This includes 9.7 GW of solar and 290 MW of wind capacity, across in-house and third-party projects. During April to December 2025, the company commissioned 1.88 GW, marking a 33% year-on-year increase. Its utility-scale operational capacity now stands at 6.0 GW, with further additions planned in FY26.

CG Power posts record quarterly revenue and PBT in Q3 FY26

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited recorded its highest standalone quarterly revenue and Profit Before Tax for the quarter ended December 31, 2025. Sales rose 22% year on year to Rs 2,909 crore, while PBT before exceptional items increased 35% to Rs 454 crore. The order book grew 66% to Rs 14,859 crore, reflecting strong demand. Reported PAT for the quarter was Rs 312 crore, including an exceptional item linked to a new labour code.

Madhya Pradesh to add 4,000 MW thermal capacity in Anuppur by 2030

The Madhya Pradesh government is finalising agreements to set up 4,000 MW of new thermal power capacity in Anuppur district. The projects involve an estimated investment of around Rs 60,000 crore, with generation scheduled to begin from 2030. Developers have been selected for 3,200 MW, with an additional 800 MW available under a greenshoe option. The projects are expected to create around 3,000 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs.

European states commit to 100 GW offshore wind target for North Sea

Several European countries have signed a declaration to target 100 GW of offshore wind capacity in the North Sea. The agreement builds on the 2023 Ostend declaration, which set a long-term goal of 300 GW by 2050. Signatories agreed to work on new financing models, including contracts-for-difference and cross-border power purchase agreements, to attract private investment. EU officials said meeting the targets could cut electricity prices by 30% by 2040 compared to 2025 levels.
