Jupiter International Limited has received a Letter of Empanelment valued at Rs 64.95 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of off grid solar water pumping systems under a state agriculture focused scheme.
The empanelment covers the manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and maintenance of off grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems. The project is part of MSEDCL’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana (MTSKPY), a state programme aimed at solarising irrigation for small and marginal farmers in off grid areas across Maharashtra.
Jupiter International Limited operates as a solar cell manufacturer with a 959 MW high efficiency solar photovoltaic (PV) cell manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh. The company said the empanelment marks its entry into solar powered application segments and aligns with its strategy to expand as an integrated renewable energy solutions provider.
Akash Garodia, Promoter and Whole Time Director of Jupiter International, said the project supports agricultural decarbonisation by replacing diesel based irrigation with solar power. He added that the company plans to undertake farmer outreach through WhatsApp communication, SMS campaigns, and regional networks to raise awareness about the scheme and its benefits.
