Shakti Pumps invests Rs 3 crore in solar manufacturing expansion
Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has invested Rs 3 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited. The funding will be used to set up a greenfield facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, to manufacture high efficiency Solar Domestic Content Requirement cells and solar photovoltaic modules. The proposed plant will have a capacity of 2.20 GW and forms part of a wider Rs 17,000 million capital expenditure programme. The company is also doubling its pump and motor manufacturing capacity to 1 million units per annum by June 2026. The expansion aims to meet internal demand and serve the broader solar market.
Bihar commissions first phase of Kajra solar plus storage project
The Government of Bihar has commissioned the first phase of the Kajra Solar Power Project in Lakhisarai district. This phase includes a 185 MW solar photovoltaic plant coupled with a 254 MWh battery energy storage system, built at an estimated cost of Rs 1,810 crore. The project is designed to supply power for four to five hours daily during peak demand, supported by newly commissioned transmission infrastructure. A second phase under construction will add 116 MW of solar capacity and a 241 MWh battery system. Once completed by January 2027, the project will total 301 MW of solar capacity with 495 MWh of storage.
Waaree Renewable revises solar project capacity and order value
Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited has revised the scope of a solar project first disclosed in September 2025. The updated Letter of Award provides for 704 MWac and 1,000 MWp, lower than the earlier 870 MWac and 1,218 MWp, due to grid evacuation constraints and optimisation of direct current overloading. The contract value has been reduced to Rs 1,039.60 crore excluding taxes, down from Rs 1,252.43 crore. All other terms of the work order remain unchanged. The project is scheduled for completion in the financial year 2026 to 2027.
NHPC board clears Rs 2,000 crore bond issue for FY 2025-26
NHPC Limited has approved the issuance of bonds worth up to Rs 2,000 crore as part of its borrowing plan for FY 2025 to 2026. The approval covers unsecured, redeemable, taxable, non convertible, non cumulative AH Series Bonds to be issued through private placement. The Board also cleared the General Information Document and Key Information Document for the issue. The bond sale falls within the company’s revised borrowing plan of up to Rs 10,000 crore approved in August 2025. Earlier approvals include AG Series Bonds of up to Rs 20,000 crore.
Hartek Power secures solar plus storage EPC project in Karnataka
Hartek Power has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction contract for a solar plus storage project at Challakere in Karnataka. The project comprises a 280 MW alternating current solar plant with 410 MWp direct current capacity and an 80 MW 320 MWh battery energy storage system. The scope includes design, supply, construction, commissioning, and one year of operations and maintenance support. The contract value is around Rs 353 crore. The project adds to the growing deployment of hybrid renewable systems for grid stability.
POWERGRID wins Davanagere–Bellary RE transmission project
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has emerged as the successful bidder for the Davanagere–Bellary interstate transmission project. Awarded through tariff based competitive bidding, the project will be developed on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis at an estimated cost of Rs 1,111 crore. Implementation will be through Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Limited with a 24 month timeline from transfer of the special purpose vehicle. The scope includes an approximately 80 km 400 kV double circuit transmission line and major substation augmentations at both ends. The system will support evacuation of renewable energy from Karnataka.
Tata Power commissions Jalpura–Khurja transmission project in Greater Noida
The Tata Power Company Limited has commissioned the 400 / 220 kV Metro Depot Substation and associated transmission lines in Greater Noida. The project adds 1,000 MVA of transformation capacity to meet rising demand in Greater Noida and the National Capital Region. Executed through its subsidiary TP Jalpura Khurja Transmission Limited, this marks the first completed milestone of the Jalpura–Khurja project. The infrastructure includes gas insulated substations, high capacity transformers, and high temperature low sag conductors. The project is part of Uttar Pradesh’s 14th Plan transmission expansion.
PIB clears 1,720 MW Kamala hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh
The Public Investment Board has cleared the 1,720 MW Kamala Hydroelectric Project on the Kamala River in Arunachal Pradesh. The scheme involves a 216 metre concrete gravity dam and an underground powerhouse, with a completion period of 96 months. Annual generation is estimated at 6,869.92 million units, with a project cost of Rs 26,069.50 crore at current prices. The project will be implemented jointly by NHPC Limited and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis for 40 years. Environmental and forest clearances are currently under process.
Power Mech subsidiary wins 250 MW BESS project in West Bengal
Power Mech Projects Limited has announced that its subsidiary PM Green Private Limited has secured a standalone battery energy storage contract from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The project involves a 250 MW 1,000 MWh system at Goaltore in Paschim Medinipur under a build, own, operate model with a full power off take guarantee. A greenshoe option allows for an additional 250 MW 1,000 MWh facility at Durgapur. The total project value, including the option, is Rs 3,126 crore. The system will be operated for 15 years with a provision for extension.

Nordex wins orders across France, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, and Spain
Nordex Group closed 2025 with onshore wind orders exceeding 884 MW across several European markets. Contracts in France, Belgium, and Portugal cover 78 turbines totalling over 414 MW, with deliveries planned for 2027. In Germany, developer UKA ordered 33 N175/6.X turbines amounting to 224.4 MW under a long term service agreement. Additional Spanish orders cover 38 turbines with a combined capacity of 245.8 MW, including the 75 MW Castillo 1 project. All projects include multi year service and maintenance contracts.
