Bondada Engineering Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Andhra Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (AP TRANSCO) for a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project valued at about Rs 627 crore. The project involves setting up a 225 MW / 450 MWh standalone BESS facility under a build-own-operate model in Andhra Pradesh.
The project will be set up at the 400/220 kV SS Hindupur substation in Anantapur District. The company has 18 months from the date of receiving the LoA to execute the project. With this, Bondada Engineering’s total BESS portfolio rises to nearly 1 GWh.
The company noted that the project is strategically important as it is expected to create a long-term annuity-based revenue stream. It is also positioned as part of the broader national grid-scale clean energy transition efforts. Bondada Engineering expects the project to support revenue after completion and provide stable income over the long term.
In December 2025, Bondada Engineering received another LoA worth Rs 3.92 billion from NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) for Balance-of-System (BoS) work for a 300 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier in the same month, the company also secured an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order covering BoS works for 810 MW of solar capacity worth Rs 9.45 billion from NLC India for projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
