NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced the commercial commissioning of 13.98 MW from its Khavda solar project in Gujarat, further expanding operational renewable capacity under its large-scale development programme.

In a regulatory filing dated 29 December 2025 under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, NGEL said that the ninth part of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Project has been declared on commercial operation. The declared Commercial Operation Date is effective from 30 December 2025.

The project is located in Gujarat and is being implemented under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III. It is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited. According to the filing, the commissioning of this additional segment takes the current commercial capacity of the NGEL Group to 7,996.30 MW, while the total installed capacity rises to 8,010.28 MW.

The development follows a series of recent capacity additions at Khavda this month. NGEL earlier announced the commercial operation of the eighth part capacity of 69.04 MW from the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, also under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III. In another update, the company declared the commercial operation of the seventh part capacity of 243.66 MW from the project. NGEL also declared commercial operation of the 6.6 MW wind component of a 100 MW hybrid project in Bhuj, Gujarat.
