NHPC declares commercial operation of Unit 2 at Subansiri Lower project

NHPC Limited has declared the commercial operation date of Unit 2 (250 MW) of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project as 23 December 2025.
The company confirmed that the trial run of Unit 2 was successfully completed on 18 December 2025. Before this, NHPC achieved test synchronisation of the unit with the national grid on 02 December 2025.
The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project has a planned installed capacity of 2,000 MW, comprising eight units of 250 MW each. The project is located across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
NHPC stated that the commercial operation dates of the remaining units of the project will be announced in due course.
