Waaree Energies Limited has reported that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sangam Solar One Private Limited, has started operations at a new solar module manufacturing facility in Samakhiali, Kutch, Gujarat. The plant has an annual production capacity of 1,500 MW through two lines of 750 MW each. The company stated that the facility began operations on 12 December 2025.

The company said the addition of 1.5 GW has increased the total annual capacity of the Samakhiali site to 3 GW. This expansion follows the commissioning of two high-efficiency module lines of 750 MW each at the same location. The company said these lines together added 1.5 GW of new capacity.

The company said it has become the first solar panel manufacturer in India to produce more than 1 GW of solar modules in a single month. This output was achieved in November 2025. Waaree Energies said the milestone was enabled by its automated and vertically integrated factories, a supply chain anchored in India, next-generation production lines and continuous operations.

The company has a cumulative solar module manufacturing capacity of 22.3 GW across India and the USA. This includes 19.7 GW in India and 2.6 GW in the USA. The company’s solar cell capacity is 5.4 GW.

Sunil Rathi, executive director of Waaree Energies, said the 1 GW monthly output marked a significant point for both the company and the domestic solar manufacturing sector. He said the company aims to continue expanding capacity as India moves towards its 500 GW renewable energy target.

Waaree Energies recently set up a new step-down subsidiary to support its Independent Power Producer strategy. Solaris Horizon Energy Private Limited was incorporated on 10 December 2025 through Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited.
