Avaada signs MoU to set up green hydrogen Centre of Excellence in Odisha

Avaada Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with GRIDCO and the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar to establish a Centre of Excellence in Odisha focused on green hydrogen. The centre will conduct advanced research on storage, industrial use and mobility applications. It will also study the technical and economic feasibility of new hydrogen technologies.
Under the agreement, Avaada Group will create an extension facility of the Centre of Excellence at its production site in Odisha. This facility will include specialised technical teams and research infrastructure. The company will fund and support selected research and development projects carried out at the centre.
GRIDCO will act as the implementing agency and will coordinate with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Government of Odisha on funding and programme execution. The Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar will serve as the host and academic partner and will provide land, research support and institutional infrastructure.
Avaada Group stated last month that it plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore across India over the next five years as it expands its power generation and related businesses.
